Why Children’s Miracle Network
Children’s Miracle Network raises funds for Baystate Children’s Hospital, covering the gaps insurance doesn’t — treatment, equipment, and family support for kids receiving care close to home. They do good work to help families in need, often at a time in their life which feels impossible.
Why 50 miles
The JFK 50 Mile is the oldest continuously run ultramarathon in the country — first held in 1963. It starts on the Appalachian Trail, drops onto the C&O Canal towpath for 26 flat miles along the Potomac, and finishes on rolling back roads into Williamsport.
I’m privileged to be able to enter this race. Even though it’ll be a very long day, this race still requires only a fraction of the endurance displayed every day by sick children and their families.
